Cluttered dashboards cause vans and truckers to have near misses!
on August 8th, 2011 at 10:42 pmA third of white van men and lorry drivers have admitted almost crashing upto 30 times in the past year because of dashboard clutter in their vehicles, according to a new survey issued by Autoglass® today. They have confessed to only narrowly avoiding accidents after having had their visibility impaired so much by the rubbish piling up in front of them. The poll found 33% of white van men and 34% of truck drivers had had between 11-30 near misses because their view had been obstructed – with 27% of WVM and 26% of truckers saying they had nearly crashed between 6-10 times. The survey of 2,000 drivers, carried out by the UK’s leading vehicle glass repair and replacement specialist, also revealed that more than a third of white van men (34%) have fast food packaging on their dashboards, nearly a quarter (24%) had cuddly toys or tacky accessories, 21% newspapers and 19% coffee cups.
