Approximately half the number of people who appeal against being given a parking ticket in England are successful, the Government has said. Penalty charge notices were either cancelled or waived for 47% of those who submitted an objection to the ticket in 2009-10, leaving the motorist with some extra cash to put towards car insurance costs.
