Millions of Uk motorists ignore MOT testing!
on October 2nd, 2010 at 9:05 pmMillions of UK motorists have admitted they are happy driving without an MOT, according to new research. Over 2.6 million drivers would happily get behind the wheel of car that was not fully roadworthy, with men twice as likely to take to the road as women. Passengers were also surveyed by Kwik-Fit and appeared even less concerned about the cars they were set to ride in. Seventeen million people say they would not have a problem getting into a car that had not passed the test. A massive 1.6 million car owners also confessed that they felt justified popping to the shops or driving short distances in cars without MOTs. Chief executive of Kwik-Fit, Ian Fraser, points out it is not safe to go down this road: “It’s worrying to see so many motorists being blasé about their car’s MOT. As 35% of cars fail their MOT, there are millions of cars on the road that are likely to be unroadworthy and could pose a serious danger to the owner, their passengers and other road users.” More
