‘Moment of madness’ play highlights the importance of driver awareness!
on December 21st, 2009 at 10:47 pmPerforming arts students from Nelson & Colne College teamed up with Lancashire’s Road Safety Group to develop a performance to show young people the implications and repercussions of driving without due care and attention. The students spoke with police and ambulance services, parents of crash victims and even the mortuary to gain a better understanding of what happens after a serious traffic crash. They then devised a performance, ‘A Moment of Madness’, which tells the story of a group of teens whose lives are altered forever after one of them decides to drive home after a night out. The play depicts the ‘domino’ effect that such a catastrophe can have, not only on the victim, but also their friends, family and other witnesses. The young actors performed their play to other students at the college and an audience from Lancashire’s Road Safety Group. More
